Tri-Youth & Advisor Masonic Leadership Training Day

  • March 27th, 2021

    • Virtual

    • 9a-1p w/ a couple 15 minute breaks in between

    • Adult Topic: "Building Relationships": Strong relationships between adults and youth are essential for healthy growth and development. Supportive and empathetic relationships become even more important as our youth grow older. Through dialogue and activity, we will explore the essential elements in forming these relationships. We will discuss expressing care, challenging growth, providing support, sharing power, and expanding possibilities. When we build strong relationships, we all benefit and we prepare our youth to be contributing members of our community and society.

    • Youth Topic: "Well-Being: Not just fruits and vegetables": Well-Being is defined by the World Health Organization as "a state in which an individual realizes their own abilities, can cope with normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to their own community." (2004) In today's world, well-being can seem unattainable and unrealistic. We will explore elements of well-being such as positive emotions, engagement, relationships, meaning and purpose, and accomplishment. By bringing self-awareness and self-management to the forefront, we can learn to identify our emotions, manage our stress, and develop healthy supportive relationships that bring us closer to overall well-being.

    • To join the meeting that day: be on the lookout for information to be emailed on Tuesday 3/23 or Wednesday 3/24 to your registration email address

  • SPACE IS LIMITED

    • First come, first serve until it meets its limit or midnight on 3/22, whichever comes first

    • If you register then need to cancel, please email Mom Whitney

    • if you try to register but it is closed, please join the waitlist to be notified if a spot becomes available

  • Expectations for the day: prepare to participate by having your camera on and be in a quiet space without any privacy concerns in the background.

Virtual Ritual Competition

We will be holding oral ritual competition virtually on the same day as Districts 6 & 8's reception (date to be announced). There will be two separate links for the competition. One for younger girls (and those that are members of District 6); and one for older girls (and those that are members of Districts 8 & 20). Those links will be published at a later date. Everyone will be in a waiting room and we will admit the girls for competition one at a time.

If you participated in the oral ritual competition in Xenia in November of 2019 and you wish to compete again, your old score will be tossed out. If you do not wish to compete again, your score will remain in the competition in the age group you were in at that time.

We are extending the age for competing for this year only to 20. If you are currently 20 years old and would like to participate, you may participate only this year in the oral competition.

As of 11/22/2020: COVID Guidelines for Ohio Rainbow

Per the latest Grand Master’s Edict issued on 11/21/2020 there are to be no in person meetings for Ohio Rainbow from now until midnight on 12/31/2020.

Business should be conducted virtually. If unable to conduct virtually, all usual and customary bills for utilities, taxes, and services, normally acted favorably upon by the Assembly may be approved by the consent of the Worthy Advisor, Mother Advisor, Advisory Board Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer.

You may view the edict here for reference.

New Ohio Rainbow COVID-19 Restrictions Following the Latest Governor's Order

Earlier this week the Governor of Ohio, Mike DeWine, issued a new order which is now in effect until further notice. He also issued a 21-day curfew for the State of Ohio between the hours of 10pm and 5am which begins today, November 19th, and expires on December 10th, 2020.

The directives in the order and in the 21 day curfew require us to modify the COVID-19 restrictions that we’ve been following to date.

New requirements are as follows:

  • Yellow/Level 1 or Orange/Level 2: You may meet in groups as large as 10 people.

  • Red/Level 3: You may only meet in groups of as large as 10 people, with masks on, outside, for less than 2 hours.

  • Purple/Level 4: You may not meet in person for any reason. You may meet virtually. Please consult with me if you have questions about how to proceed with business critical items during this time.

Requirements for all in-person meetings:

  • Masks are required to be worn at all Rainbow functions

  • All meetings must begin and end at such a time so that attendees are not away from home during the 10pm to 5am curfew while the curfew is in place.

  • Abide by any regulations that your place of meeting has instituted.

  • No singing in groups.

  • No touching.

  • Do not come if you have been in contact with COVID, had been diagnosed with, recovered from, or suspected to have had COVID (in absence of an official test to confirm) within the last 14 days.

  • Do not come if you have or have had a fever above 100 or any other symptom of COVID in the last 24 hours.

  • Attendance is not rewarded nor punished during this time. Assembly incentive programs should be modified accordingly.

Resources:

  • Check the color status of your county here. This updates weekly on Thursdays.

  • A useful handout from the Governor’s office that describes the county alert levels

  • Here is the prior Ohio Rainbow News Post about COVID-19 on our blog, it contains guidance for ritualistic work during this time.

Our GWA, Celine, was FANTASTIC all weekend as Acting Supreme Worthy Advisor for this virtual Supreme Assembly.

Also, Micaela represented us in the Calvacade and Kelly represented us during the Supreme Seminar Presentations (“the one Yankee of Region 4”) and both were wonderful

Our bow team from Logan/BSM/Columbus/Xenia won 2nd place in the Awesome 7 competition and Micaela won 1st place in the Senior division doing the Installing Officer part!

Virtual Supreme Assembly Registration

From the SWA:

Dear Rainbow Girls, Adult Workers, Parents and Guests:

The Supreme Assembly, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, cordially invites you to attend our 48th “Friendships Bloom Where Rainbow Is Planted” Supreme Assembly Session from July 25 through 27, 2020.

Given the health and travel concerns of our world-wide COVID-19 pandemic, being together this summer is simply impossible – however new horizons and opportunities have opened for us and our membership and we are looking forward to an outstanding virtual session. I look forward to this unique opportunity for each of you to “attend” Supreme Assembly. It will be a unique experience and it will never have been easier, less expensive, or perhaps more fun than to join us in July.

Our Acting Supreme Officers, the Grand Cross of Color Team, the Cavalcade Team, and the Flag Bearers/Supreme Pages are working together in unique groups to expand their interactions with girls around the world. These groups are organizing activities for Fun Night and to be shared during “screen/nutrition” breaks. They are also working on their individual presentations about the offices they hold during Supreme Assembly.
